I would like to start this post with a quote from Ruelle regarding the song “Carry You”.
“I wanted to create something that sheds light on the goodness of humanity in the midst of what seems like a lot of darkness. I have always believed that people in their ugliest, most hateful states have all been wounded in some way, at some point in their lives. I wanted to portray the common threads in humanity: We all feel pain. We all believe in something…and that more than ever, we should be coming together to lift one another up, not tearing each other down. It’s about the beauty of people coming together regardless of their differences.”
This is a beautiful ballad, when these two women put their voices together its magical. The scenery from Iceland in this video gives the song an extra aura, it`s like looking at two mystical beings where you can only guess their origin. Simply breathtaking!!
When I read what Ruelle wanted to tell us with this song, I really feel that she succeeded and the emotions are flowing out through the music. Judge for yourself, enjoy!
A little info from Wikipedia regarding Miss Ruelle which might explain if the voice seems familiar.
“Margaret “Maggie” Eckford (born November 21, 1985), better known by her stage name Ruelle, is an American electronic pop singer-songwriter. Her music is widely used on many television series, and she is the singer of the opening theme songs of Shadowhunters (“This Is the Hunt”) and The Shannara Chronicles (“Until We Go Down”)”
